Motivational sources of practical nursing students at risk of dropping out from vocational education and training

The aim of this study was to contribute to the understanding of the reasons for low or high academic motivation among practical nursing students at risk of dropping out from vocational education and training. The research data consisted of semi-structured interviews with 14 Finnish students, which were analysed by qualitative content analysis. The analysis identified six motivational sources. The present study explored the perspectives of mothers from three communities regarding their role in play activities with their toddlers. The mothers of two-year-old children from Muenster, Germany (n = 34), Chennai, India (n = 36), and New York City, USA (n = 36), participated in the study. Qualitative content analysis was utilized to analyze the mothers' responses to semi-structured interview questions. The research question at which the present article attempts to answer is: What are the British journalistic procedures used in representing migration and crime in the specific case of Romanian migrants? The article uses quantitative content analysis as the main method of research. The sample of texts was made up of 117 articles published in two (tabloid) British newspapers (the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror) in the time-period January 1–December 21, 2015. The violent acts of Romanian migrants that were covered by the UK press were extremely diverse. They ranged from robbery, murder and begging to prostitution and medical malpractice. The purpose of this work is to study the level of transversality of key competences in Primary Education in the Valencian Community. To this end, an analysis of the Decree 108/2014 cur-rently in effect will be carried out, along with determining the frequency with which each competence is worked on during this stage of education. The data obtained will be interpreted bearing in mind plurilingual programs and, more specifically, the basis of the methodological needs that are pursued in CLIL, the approach to teaching non-linguistic areas through a foreign language. To See More: A Model for Press Photograph Story Analysis

AbstractThis article presents and evaluates an interdisciplinary model for press photograph story analysis. The research comprised two stages: (i) familiarizing study participants with the interpretation model and (ii) qualitative content analysis of the participants’ interpretations of samples of press photograph stories. The result is that the model could be used in the educational context to develop the skills of visual literacy among students. Although the study opens new directions in visual methodologies, the model requires further development.

Psykisk helsearbeid på internett øker i omfang, og verdsettes på grunn av bekvemmelighet, lave kostnader og muligheter for anonymitet. Artikkelen bygger på en kartlegging av norske og svenske nettbaserte eposttjenester for ungdom og unge voksne, og viser at det var 24 nettsteder som tilbød slike tjenester i 2009. Tjenestene hadde opphav i både offentlig og frivillig sektor. Flesteparten av sidene fra offentlig sektor tok utgangspunkt i eksisterende tjenestetilbud, og var en videreutvikling av tjenestene for å styrke tilgjengeligheten av psykisk helsetjenester.
